I read a really cute book on holiday and I'd really reccomend it to any positive princesses hung up on the big three 'M's that can turn a great day into a sour one - men (can be lovely but can be a pain in the proverbial posterior) money (can't seem to get enough of the stuff to keep a girl in Benefit and Green & Black's) chocolate (does my bum look big in this....probably)

Meena Van Praag has something to say to every girl about the man-shaped stresses that make our days wonderful when they are playing nicely - but can sure as hell cause a malfunction in the positive memory banks when they don't (a) turn up (b) play ball...

"Love is one of the best things about life. And falling in love opens our hearts and makes every moment light, bright and beautiful. But in order for love to thrive we must be having a love affair with ourselves and the rest of our lives. Or our partners will be used as our substitute for life, a safety blanket instead of a soul mate.

"If we cling to our relationship, scared to step out into life, this love will sour. If we believe lacking a relationship makes us less, we'll soon feel we don't deserve one. Pursuing your own dreams, and fulfilling your own heart, will take you to true love. "

So, the trick is to:

1. Beg, borrow, buy or steal a copy of Men, Money & Chocolate
2. Read it
3. Remember there's more to life than any or all three.
